About / Sobre mí
I'm Carmen Medel — a bilingual (English/Spanish) Neurodiversity Specialist and internationally trained Clinical Psychologist, currently based in Canada. As a neurotypical ally, I built this space to share neurodiversity-affirming resources for parents, caregivers, and educators supporting autistic and neurodivergent individuals. My work is grounded in the neurodiversity paradigm — moving away from deficit-based models toward rights-based, trauma-informed, and biopsychosocial approaches. I currently work within the York Region District School Board and run a remote specialized practice supporting the Latin American neurodivergent community. I hold ADOS-2 certification, completed Clinical Care for Autistic Adults at Harvard Medical School, and have delivered presentations for educators and organizations across Chile, Mexico, and the US. Everything here is created in collaboration with autistic voices.
